When screen sharing reveals too much

You share your screen to ask for help, and a sign-in form appears. Android aims to make that moment less risky by hiding login fields and payment screens in Chrome and Android WebView during screen sharing. WebView is the component that displays web pages inside other apps.

Google announced the change on October 14. The protection was already available in native apps and is now expanding to these web pages. The rollout is planned for this month on devices running Android 15 or later.

Different protections, different rollout dates

The announcement gives no specific date for Mexico and does not confirm that every compatible device already has the feature. An announcement does not mean the protection is immediately available on every phone.

This is separate from another protection Google announced: warnings about call forwarding, planned for early December. The two features have different rollout schedules.
