When to watch the preview and get the patch

On October 20, CD Projekt announced a free update for Cyberpunk 2077, due on the 22nd. Called Edgerunners 2 Update, it is version 2.5. The studio previewed two features: cyberware customization and a new way to wield two weapons at once.

Further details will be shared on REDstreams on Wednesday, October 21 at 17:00 CEST, or 09:00 in Mexico City. The company links to the broadcast on Twitch and YouTube. This announcement is not a patch review: we have not yet tested the update or checked how it performs.

What matters is how it changes your game

An update can attract attention with a long list of new features, but returning players often need something else: a reason to make different choices. We think the announced options are worth considering in that light, without assuming they will transform the entire experience.

During the presentation, watch how the new options fit into an existing playthrough. Do they change how you build a character? Will you need to learn different controls? What are the limits of each option? These are questions for the presentation to answer, not features we have confirmed.

What to check before downloading

To decide whether to return, check the details for your platform and read the full patch notes when they are published. A brief announcement cannot establish the download size, compatibility with every mod or performance on every computer. Those questions remain open.

There is no need to make an impulse purchase to join in. If you already own the game, you can weigh up the announced content and wait for the final patch details. For now, two dates are clear: the presentation on the 21st and the update planned for the 22nd. Anything beyond that needs to be backed by information from the studio or testing that readers can check.
