A speaker for your desk

Apple introduced HomePod mini 2 on October 13 with a feature that reaches beyond the living room: it can become the default audio output for a compatible Mac. It works with one speaker or a stereo pair.

Imagine that your computer is also where you watch a film or call your family. The useful question is not how many devices you can connect, but whether a different audio setup solves something that actually bothers you.

Check your Mac first

The small print requires a Mac with Wi-Fi 6E or later. Having Wi-Fi is not enough: check the specifications of your exact model before planning a purchase.

Our suggestion is to separate two decisions: improving your desk audio and building a television sound system. They are different uses, and you do not need to begin by buying several speakers to solve just one.

A price is not a local release date

The Mexican announcement lists a price of MXN 2,999. Checked on October 23, the Mexican product page still asks customers to return for availability; it does not confirm a local delivery date.

Do not automatically apply another country’s schedule to Mexico. Keep the model and budget as a reference, but check sales and delivery in your own region when you are ready to decide.
