Helping each other is the challenge

Peak announced its PS5 release for October 22, and the official FAQ now lists that version as available. You can climb alone or with up to three friends using crossplay.

The premise is easy to explain without a list of controls: a group of scouts must escape an island by climbing a mountain. The fun does not have to come from finishing first, but from finding a way forward together.

A shared session does not mean shared progress

Landfall says Steam progress does not transfer to other platforms. It also notes that online console play requires a subscription; offline solo play does not.

If someone is changing devices, discuss that before starting. A group works better when everyone knows what they will keep, what they will need to earn again and what must be ready before connecting.

Make a specific plan

The PS5 version includes earlier content updates, according to the PlayStation announcement. That does not make the purchase a promise of endless expansions: the FAQ explains that Peak is not intended to be an ongoing live-service game.

Our suggestion is simple: agree on a short session and decide whether to take it gently or try a tougher challenge. Before paying, check the price and conditions in the store associated with your account.
