A place to chat and review
On November 4, WordPress.com introduced a new WordPress Studio workspace for macOS, Windows and Linux. It brings an agent chat together with a live site preview and a panel for organizing sites and conversations. The app lets users build on their computer and decide where to publish later.
Free does not mean everything is included
The announcement distinguishes the free app from its AI options: WordPress.com credits or a user’s own Anthropic key. Downloading Studio should not be taken to include unlimited model usage or hosting. Before choosing an option, check the current terms for the account and provider you intend to use.
It also matters whether you are testing locally or changing a public website. The announcement describes local work with synchronization as well as an agent working on a connected live site. Those carry different levels of exposure: identify which destination you are using before accepting changes.
Start with a small test
Our suggestion is to try a simple page with fictional data: a heading, an image and a form that does not send real submissions. Check the mobile layout, working links and the elements the agent changed. If you can explain what it did and recover the previous state, you will have a clearer foundation for a real project.
An attractive preview is a review checkpoint, not certification of security, accessibility or functionality. Keep a copy before moving an experiment onto a site that already receives visitors.
