When a video is too quiet
Opera announced Browser Booster for Opera GX on October 29, 2026. It includes a per-tab volume booster of up to 500% and an equalizer with eight presets. The company lists availability for Windows, macOS and Linux.
More control, not always more volume
The controls appear when you hover over a tab. The Voice preset is designed to emphasize speech, which may be more useful for following an interview than turning everything up. Start low and adjust cautiously, especially with headphones; the advertised maximum is not a recommended listening setting.
What is still being tested
The update also introduces a split view with up to four pages, but that feature remains in Early Bird. Its announcement should not be mistaken for availability to every user. Tab search also spans windows and workspaces. During a study session, finding the right page may help more than opening another window. The cover is an illustration, not a browser screenshot.
