Search and adjust in one place
On October 30, 2026, Microsoft previewed Windows 11 Search changes in the Experimental and Experimental 26H1 Insider channels. They include controls for volume, brightness and cursor size. The idea is to handle a simple adjustment without navigating several settings screens.
Phone controls, with limits
The test integrates Phone Link actions for compatible, linked Android phones, including calls, messages and Do Not Disturb. Microsoft places iPhone support in early 2027; it should not be described as available today. File previews also show details such as modification date, location and author.
There is no need to switch channels
If this is the computer you depend on for work or study, treat the news as a preview, not an invitation to install experimental software. An Insider appearance does not confirm a stable-release date. For now, the important distinction is that Microsoft is testing Search as a place to take action as well as find things. The cover illustration is not a Windows screenshot.
